2015 American Web Design Award Winners

June 29th, 2015

Atlas Branding recently had the honor of receiving two 2015 American Web Design Awards from the publication Graphic Design USA. Graphic Design USA is a nationally recognized graphic design magazine that for more than 50 years has promoted design awards for excellence in the design industry across the country. With only 9% of the entries selected as winners, the American Web Design Awards are a highly anticipated and competitive exhibition that displays just how influential web and digital design is today.

Atlas shares in its winning entries with Sparc Design and Honey Darling Events. We are humbled by these awards and are very grateful to our clients Sparc and Honey Darling for collaborating with us throughout the website process.

Atlas Compiles Asheville City Guide for Design*

September 16th, 2014

This week, the Design*Sponge features Asheville in their city guide series. Design*Sponge is a nationally recognized creative blog founded in 2004 by Brooklyn-based writer Grace Bonney. The blog features daily stories and profiles on graphic designers, interior designers, chefs, and artisans. It currently has 75,000 daily readers, with an addition of 127,000 who subscribe by RSS.

It started with an e-mail from Atlas Branding co-founder Lisa Peteet to local resident Ashley English, a national author and blogger of Small Measure and former contributor to the Design*Sponge, to enquire as to why the Design*Sponge had never published a city guide for Asheville. “We thought it would be a beneficial resource for city visitors and area businesses so we volunteered to work on assembling one ourselves,” said Lisa Peteet.

The list consists of unique galleries, furniture stores, gift boutiques, clothing shops, restaurants and breweries that help to define and distinguish Asheville as one of the most creative places in the Southeast.

“Compiling the guide was no easy task, and eliminating options from the list was the hardest part of the process, especially since we so desperately wanted to include even more than what was on the final edited version,” said Dean Peteet.

Atlas Branding Scout Books

January 20th, 2014

Atlas-Branding-Scout-BooksHOT OFF THE PRESS: Check out our fun new Scout Books that arrived end of last week. They’re printed with vegetable-based inks on 100% recycled paper with presses powered by renewable energy. Hand-crafted by free-range printers in Portland Oregon. Usually, the cobbler’s kids have no shoes, but we tried to design a few creative Atlas items at the end of last year. Looking forward to giving these out.

Launching the High Five Coffee Bar Website

October 31st, 2013

Happy Halloween Everyone! Today we have the pleasure of launching the new High Five Coffee Bar Website

The branding of High Five Coffee Bar has come full circle this year with the addition of their new site. Our overall goal was to capture the culture, vibe and internal feel you get as a patron of High Five. Jay Weatherly does a wonderful job of mixing texture and raw materials in the H5 space so we wanted to encapsulate that feel in the design of the experiential website. A quality brand experience should be consistent at every point of contact from first impressions and customer service, to interior aesthetic. Jay and his team do a wonderful job at this.

The features of the new website include:

  • A Parallax Design, which incorporates special scrolling techniques where background images on the screen move slower than foreground images.
  • Mobile abbreviated layout for the ease of customer use.
  • An interactive experience as you view photos, read text, and watch stop motion videos.
  • Fully integrated content management system for the client’s use.
  • A whole lot of ghoulish fun.
