5th Quarter Kitchenware

COOKWARE BRANDING + PACKAGING

Inspired by kitchenware brands like Williams-Sonoma and Food 52, chef Elijah Scott wanted to carve out his own niche for no-nonsense kitchen essentials—hardworking tools of the trade that are easier on the pocketbook.

Crafted for the realists, everyman home chefs who love to get their kitchens and hands dirty, testing out new recipes and entertaining friends. Every part of this brand is real, curated, and intentional.

Fifth Quarter’s cookware branding is practical with a type mark inspired by vintage cooking posters and coffee canisters. The secondary marks play off the butcher’s fifth quarter of meat with a vintage, squared-off type that looks “cut,” adding a utilitarian feel that represents 5th Quarter’s mission of bringing the best chef-approved tools of the trade to the general populous.

Fun illustrations and dingbats add playfulness and a handcrafted element to the brand, setting Fifth Quarter apart as a highly curated and well‐loved kitchenware e-commerce shop that doesn’t take itself too seriously. The photography art direction is intentionally shot to look a little messy like what you’d expect to see in your own kitchen.
